Cookie policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information from one page to the next or from one visit to the next. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage.

Cookies can be first-party, if this website sets them, or third-party, if another company sets them. They can be session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which last for a set time.

2. Cookies used by this website

First-party cookies, all technical:

• NEXT_LOCALE. Owner: Casita-Museo de Ratón Pérez. Purpose: remembers the language you chose (Spanish or English). Duration: it has no expiry date, so it is deleted when you close the browser, although some browsers keep it if they restore your previous session.
• museo_carrito. Owner: Casita-Museo de Ratón Pérez. Purpose: keeps your shopping basket; the tickets you add are held for 30 minutes while you pay. Duration: about 1.5 hours from when it is created. Only the server can read it (HttpOnly).
• museo.session_token. Owner: Casita-Museo de Ratón Pérez. Purpose: keeps you signed in to the customer area after you sign in with the link we email you. Duration: 30 days; renewed daily while you use the area. Only the server can read it (HttpOnly).
• museo.session_data. Owner: Casita-Museo de Ratón Pérez. Purpose: accompanies the previous cookie, when present, to run the customer area session. Duration: the same as the session. Only the server can read it (HttpOnly).

Third-party cookies needed for payment:

• __stripe_mid. Owner: Stripe. Purpose: preventing fraud in card payments. Duration: 1 year.
• __stripe_sid. Owner: Stripe. Purpose: preventing fraud in card payments. Duration: 30 minutes.

3. YouTube videos

The press page shows YouTube videos. Until you press the play button, nothing is loaded from YouTube and no YouTube cookies are set.

When you press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. From then on, YouTube (Google) may store cookies or data in your browser’s local storage under its own privacy policy. By pressing play, you choose to load that content.

4. OpenStreetMap map

The ‘How to get here’ page shows an OpenStreetMap map. The map images load from openstreetmap.org, so your browser sends your IP address to OpenStreetMap. This map does not set cookies.

5. Analytics and advertising cookies

At present we do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies.

If we add them in the future, they will only be set after you accept them in the cookie banner, and we will update this policy beforehand. From that banner you will be able to accept them, reject them or change your mind at any time, just as easily.

6. Legal basis

The technical cookies described in section 2 are strictly necessary to provide the service you ask for (browsing in your language, buying tickets and using the customer area). For this reason, under article 22(2) of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI), they do not require your consent, although we do inform you about them.

Any other non-essential cookie will require your prior consent.

7. How to manage or delete cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Each browser explains how in its help section, usually under privacy or site data.

If you block technical cookies, some parts of the website may not work: for example, you will not be able to complete a purchase or stay signed in to the customer area.
